Our Story

Love Ted Designs grew from our home and our hearts.
What began as a small creative outlet quickly became a way to celebrate and preserve life’s most precious moments.

The Heart Behind the Name

Our brand is named after our son, Teddy. Teddy was diagnosed at 19 months old with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD), a very rare life limiting genetic condition that affects just a handful of children each year. There is currently no cure unless caught at birth.

His diagnosis changed our world, but it also deepened our belief in cherishing every memory, every milestone, and every day together. Love Ted became our way of creating something lasting — not just for our family, but for others too.

  • Why It Matters

By sharing Teddy’s story, we hope to shine a light on MLD and raise awareness of this rare condition. Awareness is the first step towards change, and every person who learns about MLD helps make a difference.

  • What We Create

We design and make personalised décor, keepsakes, and gifts in our UK studio. Each piece combines simple, modern design with a heartfelt purpose: to help you capture and cherish life’s milestones.

Learn More About MLD

Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD) is a rare, inherited condition that affects the nervous system and worsens over time. It’s estimated to affect only around 0.001% of the population, making awareness incredibly important.

People living with MLD gradually lose vital functions including speech, memory, movement, sight, hearing, touch, eating, and swallowing. Life expectancy varies depending on the age at which symptoms first appear. Generally, the earlier the onset, the faster the disease progresses.
